Bribes and Refugees

Europe has seen an influx of migrants and refugees in recent years. Countries like Germany, Norway, Sweden, France, etc. have all been welcoming to them, until now. Recently, those countries have been offering monetary incentives to migrants so that they can resettle back in the countries they came from. This does seem like a solution, but is it really the best?

And so begins the debate.

These countries simply cannot take in everybody. It is extremely expensive to take in these people, as it costs thousands for the whole process and more for them to resettle. That all comes at the cost of taxpayers. It has reached a point where actual natives are seeing a reduction in their benefits or quality, like healthcare, housing, and education. These people who come in usually have no skills or high education, of course that is nor their fault and it is true that they cannot help it. However, in the long run, it will only bring down the GDP of these European nations.

The solution? Give thousands of dollars to them for them to return to their nations. They provide them with one lump sum and that is it. You can call it bribing in a sense, but its not entirely a bad solution. They get a lot of money, usually over 10,000 in US dollars. The countries benefit because this lump sun is better than providing continuous benefits to the thousands of asylum seekers. So will this work out? Well... what other choice is there. This certainly is not ideal for the asylum seekers, but it is certainly impossible to accommodates the hundreds of thousands of people fleeing. The best solution is to just end the wars, but of course that won't be happening soon.
