From China to Korea and Japan, to Japan to China and Korea

As most of you may know. Chinese culture and language is vibrant and special. Through its many changes, Chinese has managed to influence so many other cultures, especially Japan and Korea. Heck, Japan still uses Chinese words, and Korea technically does, but rewrites them in Korean aka Hangul (technically Hangeul). 

Now with out getting into the details of the atrocities that Japan committed, its interesting to see how Japanese Chinese spread to Korea. Here's an example: "movie" in Chinese is DianYing(电影), while Japanese uses Eiga (えいが）and Korean uses YeongHwa (영화). Both, however, use the Chinese characters (映画). So what's the explanation? Well, we know how Japan took over Korea in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Movies started showing up in Japan by then, and so naturally that spread over into Korea. China, on the other hand, was still going through its transitions from a dynasty. However, China did have movies pretty soon, and before Japan came over,  they had their own actual Chinese word for it. By the time Japan tried to attack China, China already had its word for "movie". 

That's just one example of Japan's influence on Korea.
