More Protests

Have we had enough? Nope. Every corner o the world is seeing protests of some sort, and we return back to Latin America. Nicaragua is in the middle of the action because now two more people are dead. Nicaragua recently announced changes to social security that have not been received well by the public. So far, nine are already dead and dozens more are injured. For the third day, people are protesting in Nicaragua.

There are faults on both sides. The government side, well, they didn't really consider their citizens before they made those changes, and the protestors who have also turned violent by throwing rocks, bricks, sticks, etc. So while people say they do have the right to protest (or at least should), they should not get too out of hand, because then we can start blaming both sides. Vice President Rosario Murillo alleges that these violent acts from the government supporters were triggered by the people who opposed the changes and were being "'manipulated' by political interests seeking to take advantage of the crisis".
Now obviously this event didn't spark up everyone. People have been growing weary of the government for years. It just doesn't really help when the government rolls out changes that say employers and employees must pay more and still see a reduction in pensions for medical expenses. At least that's what they say.

So what the results? This may inspire even more people to rebel against injustices in their countries but the issue is safety and if they will be peaceful. So many of these protests are occurring around the world, but sometimes things don't end too well, despite initial promises from all sides.
