Terminator

What's South Korea up to these days? Well, apparently the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is developing killer robots or at least the AI to go with them. Recently they also contracted with Hanhwa Systems for developing war machines. Groups are threatening to not work with the institute anymore, along with its 30 global partners.

It's pretty convenient that there was a UN meeting on Monday in Vienna where 123 nations discussed the implications of autonomous killing machines. The developments over the years point to something like robots in those Terminator films. Yes, it is quite scary, even more than nukes and stuff.

Speaking of nukes, this is South Korea, so you know who's right across the border. Yeah, this doesn't exactly play well into the whole Korean conflict. Unless of course, this is some leverage of sorts. I just don't think that the Kim regime would take it too well because they can use that as an argument to keep developing nukes in the interests of their country. Now the problem is, if these autonomous weapons spread, it won't be before long that North Korea or other rogue nations like Iran could get them too.
