The world is abuzz with the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the pair wed this morning (Saturday, May 19). This is a historic event not just because well, it is a wedding involving the British royal family, but because it has crossed a lot of borders. It's such a global event because it involves an American and a British marrying, and crosses the race border. Meghan Markle is biracial, and that makes this wedding a grand cultural event.
This is certainly a wedding that will go down in history, perhaps the first time that a British wedding has involved an American flair. Some traditions were broken as well, like Meghan Markle giving a speech, along with other small quirks. This is a truly happy moment for everyone around the world. This is something positive in light of all of the dark things that have occurred in the world recently.
The one negative thing about the wedding was that Markle's father was not able to attend. It's a complicated story, but apparently, her father took money from paparazzi to stage some photos. Yeah, he got busted. To make matters worse, he suffered a heart attack about a week ago and though he did check out of the hospital, he ultimately decided against attending.
